Fernsong is apprenticed to Rosepetal and attends a training session with Bramblestar, Squirrelflight, and his sisters with their mentors. (Bramblestar's Storm).
Fernsong brings Honeykit to the medicine den for a bellyache. He later goes hunting with Ivypool. When Alderpaw sets out to find Skyclan, Fernsong is one of the cats chosen to help him.
Fanon
Sparkpelt tells Hollytuft that she is expecting Fernsong's kits, and that they have been mates for a moon. The next morning, she and Fernsong are seen sharing tongues and Sparkpelt is implied to have just revealed that she is expecting.
Fernsong discusses his relationship with Sparkpelt, and his awe that she is going to have his kits, with Hollytuft on their way to the gathering.
When Blossomfall's kits are apprenticed, Fernsong reacts with surprise when he is made the mentor of Shellpaw. He discusses training with Ambermoon, and they along with Hollytuft take their apprentices out to explore the territory. When Eaglepaw asks where Windclan territory is, Fernsong tells her and leads the way there.
